We may be biased, but this place is awesome! Whether you have an RV, trailer, or even just a tent, this is the place to stay in Corpus. The price is unbeatable, the staff is super friendly, and the location is ideal. Just steps away from the Kite and Wing Academy’s launch point and all the amenities you will need for a fantastic stay in Corpus. Check it out!
Motel 6 Corpus Christi
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 7.2 miles (12 min. drive)
No point in sugar coating this one. It’s a Motel 6. Basic amenities, low cost. If you don't want to camp but still want a budget-friendly option, this is the place.
Middle Tier (typically $100-$200 per night)
Bluffs Landing Marina Hotel
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 0.6 miles (2 min. drive)
This one is a hidden gem. With great reviews, immaculate vibes, and an awesome location, this is a fantastic place to stay if you are here for the wind. The staff is often mentioned in reviews for going above and beyond. The rooms are clean, and the price is great for what you get.
Flamingo Lagoon Vacation Rental
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 0.2 miles (5 min. walk)
This spot is perfect for groups of up to 6 people. It is super close to the Kite Launch and has great views of the bay. A private pool, grill, cornhole, and paddle boards make this the perfect post-kite-wind-down spot.
Coastal Modern Condo
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 11.2 miles (19 min. drive)
A great condo on Padre Island, just 5 minutes from the beach, close to restaurants and a grocery store. On the smaller side, best for 1 or 2 people. A great price point if you're looking for a private vacation rental where you can make your own meals.
Residence Inn Downtown by Marriott
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 16.5 miles (28 min. drive)
If you want to combine your kiteboarding trip with some time exploring downtown Corpus, the Residence Inn is a solid pick. It's right on the bay, within easy walking distance of waterfront dining, the USS Lexington, and the Texas State Aquarium. Rooms are spacious with full kitchenettes, and there's a pool and complimentary breakfast.
Luxury ($200+ per night)
Omni Hotel
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 17.3 miles (29 min drive)
This is the nicest full-service hotel in Corpus. It has indoor and outdoor pools, a business-casual steakhouse on the 20th floor, and other resort-style amenities. This is the furthest location from the kite launch, but worth it if you are looking to splurge or give your family some extra comfort while you are on the water.
Lively Beach Resort Condos
Distance to Kite and Wing Academy Launch: 10.6 miles (17 min drive)
Situated on Padre Island away from the main tourist drag, it's a condo-style resort with direct beach access, a pool, a covered outdoor dining area, and some stunning sunrise views. If you want the full beach resort experience without the Omni price tag, this is worth a serious look.
